Assess reports of abuse, neglect or dependency.
Interacts and communicates with children, adult and/or family members (depending on specific area of work), service providers, legal professionals, medical professionals, and law enforcement.
Prepares court summaries; organizes documentation; provides copies of pertinent information to attorneys, GAL, judges, etc.; testifies in court.
Prepares and/or generates family services case plans, court summaries, case narratives, social summaries, and team meeting documentation.
Provides referrals to appropriate service providers.
Assesses the safety of individuals and families by gathering information through interviews of the family, including home visits, collateral contacts, and service providers; referrals to medical and psychological examinations; safety assessments, risk assessments, strengths and needs assessments, and family reunification assessments.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only); Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master’s degree in a human services field and one year of directly related experience; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience.
